Mark Lawson Antiques Announces a Special Online Auction of Property of a Nobleman and Other Owners

Online auction runs from October 22 to November 12, 2003, and is accessible through the iGavel.com web site.

Mark Lawson, proprietor of Mark Lawson Antiques, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Lark E. Mason, Jr. of iGavel.com announce the inaugural joint online auction of property of a nobleman and other owners, featuring a group of fine period 19th-century decorative objects from Ridgely, the former Catskill Manor of Viscount Frances Margesson.

The three-week online auction, which will be running from October 22 until November 12, 2003, is accessible as a “Special Auction” at the iGavel homepage. The sale features period and antique furniture, fine and decorative arts drawn primarily from the estate of Lord Margesson, with select additions of fine 19th- and early 20th-century decorative accessories.

Highlights of the auction include a choice group of 19th-century French neoclassical furniture, a Walter Kuhn oil on canvas portrait of his Jamaican mistress, two rare cubist sculptures attributed to Alice Morgan Wright, a fine Dabir Kashan Persian carpet, as well as a large Enrico Donati painting.

All lots will be available for viewing Monday and Tuesday, November 10 and 11, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. or by appointment at Mark Lawson Antiques, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Please see our website for directions to our new location.
