Holiday Trove: Day 2 – Fine Art, Silver & Decor

The second day of our annual Holiday auction, a treasure trove of more estate discoveries featuring Fine Art, Antique Silver, Decorative Accessories and Furnishings.

This year’s holiday auction will be held in two sessions over two days on November 20th and 21st, 2021. All lots, as always, are fresh to the market offerings from local estates in the Capital District region of Upstate NY. 

The second session has interesting and unique assortment of Fine Art, an excellent group of Antique Sterling Silver, Decorative Objects and Furnishings, and choice Rare Collectibles

“Crest of the Wave” an iconic bronze by Harriet Frishmuth. Paintings and prints include a striking Adirondack Hudson River Scool Painting and 2 Merian Naturalist Engravings of Butterflies. Furnishings from Mrs. Charles R. Wood include a Chagall Litho “Couple at Dusk”, a Picasso Charger, a Raimundi Bronze & an unusual group of small abstract bronzes. 

Silver features an extensive George Jensen Cactus flatware set, A group of 18c English tankards, A Reading Railroad Presentation Sterling Lg Tray, a 1922 Saratoga Springs Silver horse head Stakes Race Trophy, and a group of 18c American coin silver holloware & tableware – part of a collection from the family of Livingston W. Houston, the 11th president of RPI and descendant of Texan Sam Houston. 

Decorative objects include a Steuben Crystal Partridge in a Pear Tree, a Waterford Master Cutter Lg Compote, American Glass Table Lamp, a Franco Lazgini large grapevine punch bowl, a Lecoultre Atmos Clock, a French Bronze Figural Clock by Moreau, Royal Bonn Cupid Mantel Clock, an Arts Crafts Marquetry Leaded Glass Dental Cabinet, an Antique Chinese Dragon Ebonized Desk & Chair, and a rare Signed Galusha Side Chair.

Rare collectibles feature a Verne Powell Silver Flute, Gibson Mandolin, American 18c NY Deed, 39 and 42 star American flags, 2 cased 19thC Grand Tour Cameo Sets, 2 1812 era American Swords, 2 Japanese Swords, Arto Monaco Charley Wood Estate Originals, a South Seas Giant Clam Shell, a Silver Yale Architecture School Sculpture, and a Woodstock program and tickets with COA.
